Although Byzering brags about its low criminality rates due to intensive measures and the fear of the Pale Iron units, there still are those who try their hand at playing the system at the risk of being terminated by the BICM. These are the individuals that gamble their lives stealing mechanical parts from the transports that bring in new material for the production of Byzering's war units, smuggling them underground to Rich'at's fanatics which then augment themselves with them. Massive risk that in turn yields massive profits, which oftentimes gives purpose to the lives of those who unfortunately have nothing else to do than just collapse and die in the dirt.
